Rose Augusta Louise: variety description
This sort of rose seems to have come to us from ancient paintings of past centuries. Rose Augusta Luise (augusta luise) has a bright color, flawless flowers, large size, and also has a surprisingly delicate aroma. For the first time, the variety was eaten back in 1867, but, unfortunately, in those days it did not work out to finish the job, and the plant could not take root. This variety was remembered again in the 90s of the last century. And already in 1999 this variety was re-bred thanks to a German breeder. This variety has won many nominations, received many awards for both its appearance and wonderful aroma. This beauty, as a majestic, refined beauty, won the love of many gardeners.

Appearance
The rose variety Augusta Louise attracts attention with its double flowers, which combine in a surprising way different colors: champagne, orange, golden, peach, pink crepe. Moreover, the difference is even in the aromas: ripe fruit and raspberries. The bush has good, medium size, height up to 1.20 m, and width - up to 80 cm. In diameter, the flowers are up to 15 cm, the inflorescence has a racemose shape, as if a full-fledged bouquet. The leaves are distinguished by a dense structure, dark green color, dull surface.
Characteristics of the variety
The hybrid tea rose Augusta Louise tolerates various diseases well, as well as winter frosts. The flowering period is long - all summer until the autumn months. Does not tolerate rainy weather and direct sunlight. As a suitable place, you should choose one where there are no drafts and warms up well. An interesting point is that as soon as the first frosts come, the leaves are covered with small crimson ripples, which makes the rose even more unusually beautiful.
It is also interesting that the variety blooms in waves. The very first has a strong aroma, the second is profuse, and the very last is the longest stage. Initially, the bud looks like a yellow glass with burgundy specks. Then a flower that blooms has a large number of petals, up to 55 pieces, which then, like dresses, the flower begins to change depending on the weather and time of day. If you want to pluck even one branch, it will look like a real bouquet in single form. Such a bouquet can stand for 10 days and dispel the delicate aroma.
Rose of Augusta Louise: planting and proper watering
Rose bushes do not differ in their large size and spreading, therefore, planting seedlings can be carried out at a distance of 50 cm. They will not interfere with each other. You can plant a rose in April, when the soil is already warm enough, or in the fall, before the onset of frost, but you will definitely need to cover the bush. This variety is well suited for creating a beautiful hedge and also works well as a decoration for terraces. The soil must be chosen fertilized, which has low acidity. Don't forget to drain. This will get rid of excess moisture.
If you purchased a plant in a special rose nursery, then before planting a rose, you need to put it in water for one night. You also need to prepare a mixture that will include sand and humus, and you can also add bone meal. The depth of the pit should not exceed 80 cm, and then add a layer of humus, about 10 cm, then shed vigorously. Cut off dry leaves from seedlings. You can put pegs around the plant, then you can cover the plant so that the leaves do not get burned.
As soon as you notice that the bush has taken root in a new place, you can remove the shelter and start fertilizing. If the weather is hot, then watering needs to be increased, but care must be taken that water does not accumulate, so that the root system does not rot.
We take care of, we cut in and carry fertilizers
Like any other plant, the Augusta Louise rose on a trunk needs timely fertilization and pruning of excess parts.
Fertilizer
For the first time, fertilizers are introduced before planting a rose bush; a three-year-old humus is well suited as a fertilizer. The second time, feeding is done at a time when the buds appear. For this purpose, evening watering is carried out with the addition of phosphorus and coal. This is necessary in order to reduce the acidity of the soil. No fertilization is required before winter. In the spring, fertilizing with a nitrogen content is applied, and during the flowering period, the variety needs potassium and phosphorus. Fertilizer is introduced before watering, feeding is carried out every 14-15 days.

English rose Augusta Louise in winter
For the winter period, the rose must be covered in order to protect it from the winter cold. For this, fungicides are used. This variety easily tolerates frosts down to -22 -23 degrees. For this reason, many gardeners believe that it is not necessary to cover the bush for the winter. But this is not the case. It is best to think about the bush and cover it with a covering material. To do this, it is necessary to loosen the soil, carry out hilling of the soil, then you need to build a frame, cover it with a dense cloth, the edges need to be pressed directly to the ground.
Pruning
If you want to quickly see the flowers of this rose, then be sure to cut off the dry leaves and shoots. Pruning should be done only with high-quality garden material, and you should also prepare a solution with which you will subsequently process the slices. After the end of the winter season, you need to carefully cut off all dry and damaged branches, leaving only healthy shoots. The second pruning is also carried out in the spring, and every year. It is carried out on a strong bud, a diagonal cut is made, while the shoots should be shortened by about 15-20 cm. The next pruning should be carried out in the summer season. For this, empty or blind buds should be pruned. Then you need to apply fertilizers that will contain a large amount of nitrogen. In general, it will be beneficial throughout the season if you prune dry and damaged shoots.
Topping
Also, in the summer, you need to pinch the rose bush, as soon as you notice that the rose has 4-5 leaves. This applies to young bushes. If the bush is sick or weakened, then this method will help bring it back to normal. By removing weak and infested shoots, you will promote the emergence of new and young ones. You need to finish cutting off excess shoots by about the end of the summer period. Before the beginning of the winter period, you must also prune the bushes. It is necessary to cut off all the inflorescences and buds of the rose, also diseased and dry branches should be removed, the shoots can also be shortened by about 20-25 cm.If you do not do such actions, then in winter, the rose bushes, being under cover, can get sick and start rot. By performing such actions, you, on the contrary, will help the plant to endure the winter period, gain strength and look healthy. Best of all, what you collect, burn all the branches to avoid various diseases.
Diseases
As a preventive measure, you need to examine the rose bushes in order to detect the presence of any disease in time. The variety tolerates attacks of powdery mildew and black spot well, but it cannot avoid the attack of aphids. Sometimes this insect completely fills the whole bush of the park rose Augusta Louise. Therefore, it is best to inspect the bushes for preventive purposes in order to notice the pest in the early stages. If, nevertheless, the bush was attacked, then there are a large number of drugs that eliminate this pest well. But you can't get too carried away with them, as they can harm the plant.
If you like to use folk remedies, you can use soapy water, or you can prepare a tincture using garlic and onions, which are taken in equal amounts.
It is also better to prune shoots - this will be a preventive measure. If you notice brown spots on the foliage, then most likely this is a sign of a burn, from which antibiotics need to be used. They need to spray the bushes once a week throughout the summer season. If, after the end of the winter season, you also find black spots, this is a sign of a fungal infection. There is only one way to deal with it - to cut off diseased shoots and process the cuts with the help of a special Ranet paste. Then in the morning you can spray with copper sulfate.
