Plum Kuban legend is the result of the work of scientists from one of the leading institutions in the field of creating varieties of fruit trees - the Crimean Experimental Breeding Station of the VNII named after N.I. Vavilov. The plum variety Kubanskaya Legend is obtained as a result of hybridization of such varieties as Sochinskaya Yubileynaya and Renkold Altana. Despite the fact that the plum of this variety is recommended for cultivation in the North Caucasus, Rostov region, it is successfully cultivated in other regions.

Plum tree Kuban legend, as a rule, is medium-sized, with a wide-pyramidal crown, which, over time, becomes wide-oval. The crown density is small. The trunk is brownish-gray, with numerous lenticels, slightly susceptible to cracking. The branches are straight, the length of internodes is average, slightly more than a couple of centimeters. Pubescence is absent. Vegetative buds have a conical shape with a pointed top, while generative buds are more rounded with a blunt apex.
The foliage of the plum variety Kuban Legend is glossy, painted green. The leaves themselves are obovate, slightly elongated and concave, with a narrow wedge-shaped base and a rounded tip. The edges are serrated, there is a slight pubescence at the bottom of the leaf plate. The leaf plate has an average length and width of 7.5 cm and 5 cm, respectively. The length of the leaf petiole is approximately 2 cm, it has a red-purple color due to the presence of anthocyanins. There are no stipules.
